District Purchases Security & Safety Cameras
This past December, the Dell Rapids School District purchased safety and security cameras for all of our route buses, the activity bus and the special education mini-bus. Within the past several weeks, those cameras have all been installed and are currently operational.
The new digital cameras and monitoring equipment allows the transportation staff and administration to better monitor safety, security and behavior on our route buses, the activity bus and the special education mini-bus. The six route buses and the activity bus have two digital cameras placed inside each bus. The cameras are activated when the bus is turned on and the monitoring equipment records for as long as the bus is running. The monitoring equipment also allows the district to store up to 30 days of data for future retrieval.
With the new digital monitoring equipment, the district is in a better position to monitor student safety and student behavior incidents while riding on the district buses.
