½ credit, RequiredThe course reflects upon our national ideas and how the free enterprise system influences our levels of living. The free enterprise system in the United States is a fundamental part of all our daily lives. Economics is designed to give a basic understanding of how our system functions which is essential to our development as producers, consumers, and citizens. The course emphasizes (l) how our economic system operates, (2) the unique qualities of the free enterprise system, and (3) how the individual operates within the system of free enterprise. In addition to textbooks and workbooks, filmstrips, cassettes, and the local press are used to discover current happenings.
