Nutrition and Wellness, grades 9-12
½ credit, ElectiveThis family and consumer sciences class focuses on nutrition, wellness and food principles. This semester course will develop skills and knowledge necessary to make healthy food choices as well as practice safe sanitation habits; storage; preparation techniques; eating habits; wellness; nutritional values of foods; and preparation and serving of foods. Topics covered are nutrition and wellness of individuals and families; and food safety and sanitation; nutrition from production to consumption of foods.
